About PTO |
Longbranch Elementary's Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) is a group of parents who volunteer their time and talents to support our school in many ways. It is the mission of PTO to offer methods of communications, funds for student programs, plan activities, provide teacher recognition, participate in service projects, assist in event planning, and support students, teachers, and staff with the resources they need. PTO Accomplishments: -Built basketball court on playground & donated 45 basketballs -Provided 10 new swings on the playground -Shade Structure over play area $19,312 -Purchased books for every classroom -sponsored anti-bully campaign -sponsored visiting author -Awarded American Academy of Dermatology Shade Structure Grant of $8000 -Kindergarten and 1st grade play house & decorative painting for the school -Recess Baskets and equipment for all grade levels -Purchased hand sanitizer for each classroom -Refillable Longbranch water bottles to all students and teachers -Gift Certificates to all teachers at a local teacher supply store -Assisted the PE department in helping purchase the Rock Climbing Wall -Built a decorative structure known as, "The Shady Branch" outside for the students & teachers -Purchased play ground equipment and planted trees -Purchased painted quotes that are located on the walls of the main hallway PTO sponsors special events such as: -Sonic Drink Day -book fair (Fall & Spring) -Grandparent's Day Luncheon -Fine Art show and reception -Holiday shop -Boo-Hoo back to school breakfast -Science Fair -Honey Baked Ham drive -school supplies -special treats for the bus drivers -assists in field day activities -provides Back to School breakfast for the teachers -organizes spirit wear and items for Spirit Week and homcoming and helps sponsor teacher appreciation events and luncheons just to name a few! |
